{ habit forming }

I played Soccer for 3 years while in High School.
I also played a little Softball and dabbled in Basketball, too.
In P.E., remember how they made you 'run the straights & walk the curves'?!
Ugh - I hated those days on the track...
I've never had the desire to run.
Ever.
Even in playing those sports, I some how weaseled my way out of running each time & could count on both hands how many times I ran during games {yay for defense!}

My Mom, Gigi, did a Running Clinic when I was in Jr. High & I can remember going with her, just not being an active participant. She's really gotten into running the past few years & is the most fit she's ever been in her life!
Gigi just completed her first 1/2 Marathon this past Sunday {Woot, Woot!} and the next time she runs it -- she'll have a partner.

Oh yes, I have taken up running.

And, so far, I like it :)
I like it enough that even if I have no one to run with, I get up, put my hot pink running shoes on, grab my iPod & hit the road solo.

I know, I know, for those of you who know me well -- I'll wait while you pick your jaw up off the floor....

and while you get yourself back together from laughing so hard...

Running is something I thought I'd never do, much less enjoy - ever.
So with that said, I'm not the fastest runner you've ever seen - not in a long shot, but at least I am enjoying my new habit thus far. And as you see the shirt above with the tortoise & the caption 'don't rush me' -- that's my new motto :)

Any tips, tricks, tunes or fabulous sites for running apparel are welcome :)

I'll be back on schedule for bloggy posts a.s.a.p.!

  1. YOU GO GIRL!!! After I had Dylan I started running as well. I stopped when I got pregnant with Kayleigh but I keep saying I will start again. I too have my pink shoes on and throw on the ipod and I'm good to go! That's awesome!

    PS - The sport runner has some great clothing...
